Veeam Cloud Connect Backup Service Provider Configuration

To establish a service provider connection with DSM’s Veeam Cloud Connect service, perform the following steps.

  1. Launch Veeam Backup & Replication Console from the Client (Source) location:
  2. Log into Veeam Backup & Replication Console with the appropriate credentials:
  3. Select Backup Infrastructure from the left navigation panel:
  4. Select Service Providers from the left navigation panel:
  5. Select Add Service Provider:
  6. Enter the following information to configure DSM as your Veeam Cloud Connect Service Provider:
    • DNS name or IP Address:
    • Description: DSM – Veeam Cloud Connect
    • Port: 6180 (Default)
    • Enable – Allow this Veeam Backup & Replication installation to be managed by the service provider. (Only enable if you would like remote assistance from DSM if configuration issues were to arise and your security posture allows)

    Click Next
  7. Click Add to enter your DSM – Veeam Cloud Connect Credentials:
  8. Enter in the following information. This should have been provided during the onboarding session. If you don’t have your DSM – Veeam Cloud Connect Credentials please contact your assigned DSM Project Manager.
    • Username: ClientAccount
    • Password: ClientPassword

    Click OK
  9. Click Apply to save the configuration settings:
  10. Verify that the reported Capacity amount aligns to your contracted storage amount and click Apply:
  11. Highlight the pre-populated NEA (Network Extension Appliance)
  12. Click Edit…
  13. Modify the placement of the NEA as required by the client.
    • Host – Which host should the NEA reside
    • Resource Pool – Which Resource Pool should the NEA reside
    • Datastore – Which Datastore should the NEA reside
    • Network – Which network should the NEA be on

    Configure a static IP for the NEA or use DHCP if desired.

    Click OK
  14. Click Apply to confirm the NEA settings:
  15. Verify that all tasks completed without error and click Next:
  16. Review the Summary and click Finish:

You have now successfully added DSM as a Veeam Cloud Connect Service Provider.
